Auto warranty

Cars like most other things that we use are not predictable. You might by the most costly of them and from the best brands and even after that your car might break down the next day. Repairing a car is a costly venture. with the advancements of technology cars no longer are simple machine .they are now run and controlled by computers which make cars less prone to break downs. But when these cars breakdown it becomes a Herculean task to repair them as they are all automatic and require a professional to repair them. Hence a break down leaves you with a big hole in your pocket. The solution to the problem is car warranty. Most car manufactures give a warranty of about three years on there cars. These warranties are actually written documents that assure a cars sound performance for the period of time and if the car breaks down within that period the car company would pay for all the repairs. But the question arises as who would pay for these warranties if you are buying a second hand car. Also if you are buying a second hand car you would be unaware of the cars previous history and performance and hence might fall into a maintenance expense trap as the manufacturers warranty has long been over. These are why a person should take extended warranties on used cars. For that you have to invest a specific amount of money depending on your cars existent condition and the number of years you want the warranty to last. These kinds of extended warranties save you a lot of headache while using second hand cars. Auto warranties come under four levels of categories has defined by most auto warranty companies. They are:

Power train: These types of warranties basically focus on engine, transmission and drive axles. The total number of components under warranty might vary from company to company. This kind of coverage is important because it is these components that normally break down and are the most costly to repair.

Power train Plus: This includes all the Powertrain components plus between 5 to 10 additional components such as: steering, electrical, air conditioning, cooling and fuel system.

Full Coverage or Premier:  In full coverage all the items that have been given in the powertrain plus are included along with that there are other items such as: Hi-tech Electrical and Customer Convenience packages. These include all sophisticated gizmos like "remote keyless entry module", "cruise control", "Basic antennae motors", "rear wiper motors" and the cars air conditioner...

Bumper to Bumper or Premier Plus: This is the best form of warranties as its coverage is similar to the ones the car manufacturers give you once you buy a new car. It is the most comprehensive package as it covers all the car components except the ones that are given in the exclusivity list. . A list of excluded items is provided and must be read carefully before buying the warranty.

Steps to get a perfect warranty

1. Preferably do not buy warranties from the car dealer as warranties from dealers are normally far more costly than the ones given by warranty companies

2. Make sure the warranty companies you’re considering have reinsurance for all their policies –in this way you are safe from any kind of default.  Also make sure that the reinsure companies are reliable companies.

3. If you are buying a warranty through internet always make sure that the company is not fake.

4. Choose extended warranties which are within your price range otherwise you face the risk of default
